Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) has expressed satisfaction over Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) Srinagar lab becoming First Accredited Textile Testing Laboratory of Jammu & Kashmir. The Accreditation has been done by the Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratory (NABL).
The KCCI considers it to be a historic milestone as it will accord due credibility and recognition to the testing facility being provided by the Institute in line with National and International Quality Standards, the chamber said in a statement.
The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce said it has a close association with IICT, Srinagar and played a big role in its development and expansion.
“On this occasion, the KCCI expresses appreciation to its Director Mr. Zubair Ahmad, Government of India, Jammu & Kashmir Government and officials of the institute for their role for getting it the Institute Accredited. This status of the IICT will greatly benefit the manufacturers/Exporters of Kashmir Handmade products. It is hoped that the IICT will grow from strength to strength for which the KCCI will continue to play its active role,” the Chamber said.
