Fozia Zehra of J&K among 15 national winners for second edition of Dettol Hygiene Olympiad

Budgam: Reckitt, world’s leading consumer health and hygiene company, announced winners of the second edition of Dettol Hygiene Olympiad, the biggest hygiene Olympiad in India under Reckitt’s flagship campaign Dettol Banega Swasth India. The Olympiad was organized with the aim to raise awareness about the role that hygiene plays in preventing childhood illnesses. The 15 Olympiad winners, accompanied by their teachers, were felicitated at the launch of Dettol Banega Swasth India Season 10 in Mumbai.
Fozia Zehra of Ichigam village Budgam in class 9-10 catagory is among the winners.A total of 15 students (three in each level) across the country were awarded cash prizes, with the first position winning Rs 50,000, second position winning Rs 35,000 and third position winning Rs 15,000.
In the tranquil hills of Ichigam Budgam, nestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of Jammu and Kashmir, lives Fozia Zehra. Growing up in the embrace of a modest family, Fozia’s parents etched in her heart the values of education and cleanliness, nurturing her from a tender age. Fozia’s path to success was a challenging one. Every day, she walked miles to reach school. The resources for her education were scarce, but her spirit remained unyielding. Health and hygiene is a topic close to her heart, something she believed could transform lives. The turning point arrived in the form of the Dettol Hygiene Olympiad, a part of the Dettol Banega Swasth India Initiative. Fozia saw in it not only an opportunity to test her knowledge but also a chance to spark a revolution of awareness within her community. She delved into the world of health, and tirelessly lead awareness campaigns in her small village.
When the day of the Olympiad finally arrived, Fozia poured every ounce of her being into the competition, and the result was nothing short of astounding – she emerged as the champion of the entire state. Fozia’s triumph wasn’t solely her own; it was a radiant ray of hope that pierced through the clouds of Budgam. Her story became an inspiration, playing in the hearts of countless young dreamers who had never dared to look beyond their circumstances before. She didn’t stop there; she took her mission to the national stage, becoming the voice of hygiene and health for her state. Fozia represents the transformative force of education. She is capable of raising entire communities from the depths of despair. From a modest village in Budgam to the pinnacle of hygiene advocacy, her journey is nothing short of inspiring.
