Sjopian: A case of total hip replacement was today performed at District Hospital (DH) Shopian, a first of its kind surgery in the district hospitals of South Kashmir.
The surgery was performed by an expert team of orthopedic doctors including Dr. Alamgir Jhan, Dr. Ishad Ganei, Dr. Altaf and Dr Abdul Hai, and Aneasthesia and critical care support was provided by Dr. Atif Nabi Shah, Dr. Irfan and Dr Pragya.
Paramedical team of Javed, Aijaz, Shakir, Faisal assisted in the conduct of the surgery.
The surgery costs about Rs 1.5 lac in private setup but was done under AB -PMJAY free of cost.
Dr. Rubina Maqbool, MS DH Shopian said that this surgery was first of its kind in the district hospitals of South Kashmir. She said the management is trying its best to provide improved and latest healthcare services to the public.
