BARAMULLA: Police in Baramulla recovered an abducted girl within hours and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
“On 21/07/2023, Police Post Palhallan received a written complaint from a one person that his daughter (name withheld) aged about 16 years has been kidnapped by Gowhar Abbas son of Mohd Abbas Wani Resident of Kralwari Chadoora. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation was set into motion,” police said in a statement.
Acting swiftly, a police team of Police Post Palhallan swung into action and recovered the abducted girl within 6 hours from Gamandar Chadoora Budgam and arrested the accused kidnapper on the spot. The accused person has been shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
After completion of all medico-legal norms, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is going on, police said. “Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue,” it added.
