JD YSS inaugurates inter-zonal sports competition; 250 students participating

SRINAGAR: After completion of Inter school Zonal level competitions conducted by all 8 Sports Zones of District Srinagar, District Youth Services and Sports Office (DYSSO) Srinagar organized Inter zonal competitions for Boys /Girls falling under the age group of 14 and 17 years at twin higher secondary schools of the district on Thursday here.
About 250 boys and girls are participating in these competitions. For Boys, the competitions were conducted at MPML HSS SCHOOL BAGI DILAWAR KHAN, while for Girls, the inter-Zonal activities were carried out at Govt. Girls HSS Zadibal Srinagar. Many student players from all 8 Sports Zones of Srinagar participated in this mega event. Joint Director Kashmir of the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K Waseem Raja inaugurated the competitions while taking a break on a Carrom Board. A pledge against drug abuse and its hazardous effects was also taken by all the participants and officials on this occasion.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer Srinagar Gh Hassan Lone, Zonal Physical Education Officers of different zones of the District. I/c Media & Publicity Wing of the Department Azhar Hajini, I/c Activity Section Muzaffar Ahmed, and other senior officials and officers of the Department were also present. These Inter zonal competitions are being conducted in Chess /Carrom /Rope Skipping, Tennikoit, and Table Tennis by the Department at various venues. A highly professional team of officials has been deployed to conduct the competition in the most proficient manner.
Meanwhile, mass yoga displays are being conducted in schools of Srinagar District regularly to participate in connection with the forthcoming International Yoga Day.
