Book Review: ‘The Seraphic Garland’ by Khursheed Ahmad Wani

It is a great honour to present also this debut collection of poetry from renowned author, Khursheed Ahmad Wani. “The Seraphic Garland” is a beautiful collection of poetic verse.
I liked what the author himself said and wrote in his collection: Poetry expresses an idea, describes a scene, or tells a story in a word-focused arrangement. It is a presentation of emotions, dreams, and thoughts that often die in our souls…
In the middle of the Ocean
Waves crashing over me ….
I will agree with him on this, but I will also add that by writing poetry, you try to convey your own images and thoughts to the reader, who is also your biggest judge, through your own eyes. Each of his poems, and an image, is always framed by the love he has for nature, his beliefs, and the very love he has for creation.
… Even in Spring
Nature seemed desolated ….
The poetic work of my dear friend Khursheed Ahmad Wani is rich in realistic images, and memories of a lifetime, which speak with a voice of emotion and sensitivity to every reader.
The author with gratitude and mental completeness records the time he lived. He gives double value to the moments that have passed, embroidering with words and colours the frame of his scenery. The didactic values of his poetry collection, which consists of 75 poems, are unique in their kind, as well as the messages he wants to convey to each reader: Love for family, fellow man, country, nature, and the beautiful among the difficult things of life.
Oh my Lord
To every caste and creed
On pastures and birds
Verily, the showerer of blessings!
In the “suffering” times that humanity is experiencing, they show us that the healthy balance of man is close to nature, fellow man and family.
Sweet nostalgia, values of another era, idyllic images in a deposit of the soul, in an era “wooden” and empty of emotions, to remind the true displacement of man: Harmony between inside and outside, spirit and matter, man and nature. The visual, auditory, and olfactory images reveal an experienced view of life and nature.
In the poem “O My Butterfly”, we see the love for life, which here is identified with the butterfly, as it is regenerated through the beauty of colours and flowers.
The same is in the poems “A Dream” and “A Fairy” where emotion and beauty reflect inside us like melodies and reach our souls.
In general, Khursheed Ahmad Wani has succeeded with this collection of his poems to move us and bring us harmony within us in a wonderful journey of creation. I wish him to continue creating and giving us wonderful journeys because as always I say and write “Poetry Unites Nations and People”.
Good luck with your book my dear friend!
