Edu dept organised medical camp for disabled children in Pampore

PAMPORE: The education department Pulwama organised a health Screening camp for disabled childrens of Education Zones of Pulwama district at Saffron Town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.
A large number of parents from Education Zone Pampore and Kakapore came with their children for check ups and examinations.
A free medical Assessment medical camp was organised by Chief Education Officer (CEO) Pulwama under Samagra Shiksha in collaboration with ALIMCO for children with Special needs of Education Zone Pampore and Kakapore at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Pampore on Sunday.
A special team of doctors, including Orthopaedicians, Psychiatrists and ENT.
During the day-long health camp , doctors examined 185 Children’s, officials told Kashmir Reader.
District Education Planning Officer (DEPO) Pulwama Manzoor Ahmad Khan, OSD, District Coordinator Ayaz Ahmad Ayaz, Zonal Education Office (ZEO) Pampore Abdul Rashid, Principal Boys Higher Secondary school Pampore Mushtaq Ahmad attend the health camp.
Bilal Ahmad Wani Zonal Coordinator and other officials, Senior teacher of government boys higher secondary school Pampore Hilal Ahmad, other teachers, staff of Education Department also present in the day-long camp.
“Today’s camp was organised for specially abled children from zone Pampore and Kakapora,”DEPO Pulwama Manzoor Ahmad told Kashmir Reader, adding that all the children belong to the specially abled category.
He said during the camp an assessment was made for aids like spectacles, hearing aid, wheelchair and walking sticks needed by them.
He told Kashmir Reader that it is policy of the government to assess needs of specially abled students so that these equipment are made available to them.
” 185 students were assessed by six doctors three from government and three from an NGO,” he said, adding that the doctors assessed them for different aids required by them so that they will be made available to them by the government.
