SKUAST , Western Sydney University Australia scientist discuss research carried on insect pollinators of almond

Srinagar: A meeting of thesis defence entitled “Studies on Insect Pollinators of Almond, Prunus amygdalus Batsch in Kashmir Valley” in favour of Ph. D Scholar, Uzma Arifie (Proposed Dual degree programme between SKUAST Kashmir and Western Sydney University, Hawkesbury Campus Australia) under the project entitled “Indo-Australian Project on Crop Pollinators (AICRP on HB&P)” was held at Vice-Chancellor’s meeting hall under the chairmanship of Prof. Nazir A Ganaie, Vice-Chancellor SKUAST Kashmir.
The meeting was also attended by the Directors/Deans/ Heads of various Divisions/ Members of advisory committees from both Universities (WSU, Hawkesbury Australia and SKUAST Kashmir)/ Faculty members besides PG Students of various Divisions of SKUAST Kashmir, both in online as well as offline mode.
Prof. Nazir A Ganaie, Honourable Vice-Chancellor SKUAST Kashmir interacted with the advisory committee from WSU, Australia regarding the research programme of the Ph. D Scholar and thanked them for their constant support and constructive suggestions put forth from time to time in order to make the research programme successful and unique of its nature.
The Major advisor and Head of the Division of Entomology, Prof. M A Paray welcomed the august gathering and gave a brief description of the programme. The queries put forth by the advisory committee members were answered satisfactorily by the scholar. The members from WSU Australia congratulated Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-K for having an efficient and hardworking faculty. They also appreciated the research work which the student has carried out with full zeal, dedication and sincerity and, lauded the excellent presentation delivery by the Scholar.
