PAMPORE: Department of social welfare Pulwama under the supervision of district Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Dar organized Psycho Social counselling programme under youth engagement and outreach initiative in collaboration with Chief education office (CEO) and Mahila Shakti Kendra Pulwama at government higher secondary school Pinglena, Naira and central high school Pulwama, officials told Kashmir Reader.
During the programme experts from District hospital Pulwama,Mahila Shakti Kendra staff provided awareness on schemes of Mission youth operated by various departments for unemployed youth of the district.
The students were informed regarding the initiatives of the Government and motivated to combat failures courageously and keep going and achieve bigger things in life.
Expert from Addiction treatment facility Pulwama Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir talked about drug addiction strategies. The students were given exhaustive knowledge of Drug menace and related measures taken to curb this menace.
Minsha Ahad Women welfare officer Mahila Shakti Kendra highlighted Mission youth initiatives like Mumkin,Tejaswani, Customized livelihood generation scheme , Spurring entrepreneurship,Micro credit loan schemes etc . She said focus is also being laid on Skill development of youth and providing them avenues to establish their own business units so that youth may become self dependent.
District coordinators MSK Mehrusa Farooq and Nelofer Jan elaborated the initiatives of govt. For women empowerment, she sensitized students regarding their rights and powers while laying stress on women empowerment.
On the occasion,Cultural programme (Skit) presented by Cultural group of kashmir (Gulzar fighter and their team).
During the programme 650 students, Principals of 3 concerned schools,all faculty members , MSK staff,counselor of ATF district hospital pulwama ,officials from social welfare department Pulwama were attended the programme.
