FSD conducts special drive to check sanitation, hygiene of Butcher, Chicken shops at Pulwama

PULWAMA: On the directions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, a special drive was conducted by the Food Safety Department (FSD) Pulwama to check the sanitation, hygiene of Butcher and Chicken shops and also check the quality of meat and meat products available.
During the drive, Six Butcher shops were found violating Sanitation and Hygiene requirements under Food Safety and Standards Act 2006. Complaints/ Cases have been prepared for submission before the competent Court. Besides this Four Notices were also issued to Butchers and Chicken sellers for putting the meat out-side their shops.
Commissioner Food & Drug Administration, J&K, Shakeel Ur Rehman has directed all the Butchers and Chicken Sellers and Milk vendors to maintain high level of hygiene within their premises and not to keep parts of meat out-side their shops, otherwise stern action will be taken under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
