SRINAGAR: The 73rd Republic day of India was celebrated at SKUAST Kashmir’s Shalimar Campus with great enthusiasm. The Dr. M.N. Khan Director Education, Dr. Shabir A Wani Dean Horticulture Dr. Masarat Khan Dean Faculty of Fisheries, Dr. Haroon Naik Director Planning, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Haji Comptroller and Dr. Rohitwash Kumar Associate Dean College of Agri. Engineering among other staff members and non-teaching were present during the celebrations. Director Education unfurled the National Flagwhich was followed by playing of the National Anthem.
Faculty members, heads of various divisions and non-teaching staff were present on the occasion.Dr. Khanwished all the staff members and said that this day is to celebrate and honour our nation and our sovereignty. This is a day to remember with gratitude the enormous efforts and sacrifices of millions of freedom fighters whose blood and sweat gave us Independence and created our Republic.
He also applauded the efforts and resilience of scientists and non-teaching staff of Shalimar Campus. All SOPs for prevention of COVID-19 have been followed during the celebration ceremony.
The programme was co-ordinated by Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat, Deputy Registrar and Nisar Ahmad Dar Public Relations officer SKUAST-Kashmir.
