Function also held at Wadura

SRINAGAR: The 73rd Republic day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism at the Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura, SKUAST-K. The Dean, Faculty of Agriculture unfurled the National Flag followed by playing of the National Anthem. Faculty members, heads of various divisions and non-teaching staff were present on the occasion.Dean conveyed her republic day wishes to all the staff members and in her speech advised the scientists to prioritise their research programmes based on the needs, interests and constraints of the farmers and urge to work hard for the development of innovations in the farm sector of the nation to meet the challenges of globalisation. Dean also applauded the efforts and resilience of scientists of faculty, non-teaching staff, labourers and all those who are directly or indirectly associated with the farm sector during Covid pandemic.
In view of the spread of Covid pandemic, Republic day was celebrated after following preventive measures, like use of sanitizers, wearing of face masks and maintaining social distancing. Prof. Raihana thanked all the scientific as well as non-teaching staff for their active participation in making the event successful.
