SRINAGAR: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Sopore and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
Acting swiftly on reliable information about drug trade, a special team led by SHO PS Dangiwacha under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad established a checkpoint at Ladoora crossing and intercepted 04 persons. They have been identified as Muhammad Ramzan Dar son of Bashir Ah Dar resident of Ladoora Rafiabad, Nazir Ah Sheikh son of Muhammad Sultan Sheikh & Umer Yousuf son of Mohd yousuf Lone both residents of Nadihal Rafiabad and Farooq Ahmad Ambar son of Ghulam Nabi Ambar resident of Tarzoo Amberpora.
During checking, officers were able to recover 1008 banned capsules from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to the Police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 195/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers & cultivation of the contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling or cultivation will be dealt as per law
