D&FCO, PMJAY organised Jan Aushadhi public outreach programme at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: Jammu Kashmir Drug and Food Control Organisation (D&FCO) and Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojna(PMJAY) today organised 13th Jan Aushadhi public outreach programme in DH Ganderbal under the directions of Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Vivek Bhardwaj.
The program is aimed at creating awareness about the benefits of the scheme through which quality medicines are made available to the general public at affordable prices. Hundreds of such Medical Kendras (stores) have already been established throughout J&K.
Deputy Drug Controller Kashmir, Irfana Ahmad was chief guest in the event. She enlightened participants about the benefits of the scheme and assured that every help would be extended for providing benefits of the scheme even to the people of the remotest areas of Jammu and Kashmir. She urged upon all stakeholders especially Doctors for their active support for the success of this scheme.
Rifat Nazir Nodal Officer, PMBI for J&K and Ladakh presented a detailed report about the progress and future prospectus in district Ganderbal. She emphasised in detail how the availability of the medicines is ensured in a better way for smooth functioning of the Kendras. She said that the Union Government is committed to provide the best quality medicines to the people of the country at affordable prices and informed about “Jan AushadhiSugam ” mobile app locates nearby Jan AushadhiKenrda. Dr Shabir Awan, Incharge CMO Ganderbal, reiterated his commitment for opening of Jan Aushadhi Kendra in all unrepresented Health Institutions of District Ganderbal.
Nighat Jabeen, Deputy Drug Controller ILC Kashmir; Dr Nishat, Assistant Director DHS; Nigeena Akhter, Assistant Drug Controller Ganderbal M Younis, Assistant Drug Controller Srinagar; Dr Mohammad Saleem, Physician and Dr Suhail Manzoor (PSM) also spoke on the occasion and raised awareness among masses about its benefits as well as quality assurances.
The other dignitaries attended the event were Medical Superintendents, Faculty from DH Ganderbal, all BMOs, Drug control officers of Ganderbal District. PMBI medicines sole distributors for Kashmir, owners and pharmacists of different Kendra from District Ganderbal and people from different walks of life were also present in the awareness programme.
