Srinagar: Indira Gandhi National Open University issued the notification for admission to PhD programmes regular mode for July 2021 session and admission will be done on the basis of entrance test conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) an autonomous organisation under the department of higher education, Ministry of Education Government of India.
In this regard NTA is inviting online applications for INDIRA GANDHI NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY for PhD Programmes Entrance Examination test 2021. Online submission of application form through website https://ignou.nta.ac.in/ is available from 5th December to 22nd December, last date of successful transaction of fee through Credit/Debit Card /Net Banking/UPI is available up to 23rd December.
The examination date is 16th January 2022 on Sunday. The prospective aspirants are requested to undertake the correction very carefully as no further chance of correction will be provided after the above mentioned schedule. Information about the eligibility criteria, scheme of exam, exam centres, exam timings, exam fees, procedure for applying are contained in the Information Bulletin on the website of NTA https://ignou.nta.ac.in/. Regional Director Dr. Kamlesh Meena said we are pleased to inform all the aspirants of the research programme, Alumni of IGNOU and other universities desire to seek admission in research programmes in their respective academic fields.

The current admission notification for July 2021 session offering only PhD programmes (Doctor of philosophy) in 23rd disciplines which are as: anthropology, political science, geology, life sciences, mathematics, management, commerce, education, Hindi, Urdu, English, Sanskrit, computer science, law, nursing, interdisciplinary and trans disciplinary studies, environmental science, tourism studies, translation studies, vocational education, women’s studies and child development. These programmes are being offered in compliance with University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and procedure for award of MPhil/PhD degrees) Regulation, 2016.
