Awantipora: Nuclear physicist from IIT Ropar, Dr.Pushpendra P. Singh Thursday visited Islamic University of Science and Technology. Dr.Singh shared his institutions positive experiences with IUST interns and mentioned that their performance was a key indicator of IUST’s quality and excellence. Dr. Singh shared various insights from his institution about the model of internship and incubation that has been in place at IIT Ropar which is also to be patented. The success stories regarding different projects were also shared during his interactions with the IUST team comprising Heads, Incharges and officers who elaborated on different areas and potential avenues for the partnership.
Dr. Singh while interacting with Vice Chancellor IUST, Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo lauded the internship and innovative initiatives taken by IUST. Given the potential of IUST, Dr. Singh expressed to have collaborations with IUST in terms of internships, innovations, R&D etc.
During the interactive session with Dr. Singh, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. AH Moon said that, “IUST will be a spoke in the IIT project Hub and it will be a win-win situation for both the institutions. Prof. Moon held a details discussion with Prof. Singh over internship and incubation model prevalent at the IIT and noted its role in mentoring students, scholars and budding entrepreneurs at IUST.Dean Research Prof. Haroon Naik enlisted various areas like agriculture, water resources which IIT could find suitable areas of work and stressed that the process of implementation of this partnership was a key to success for this tie-up.Director Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Dr. Parvez Ahmad Mir also talked about the role of IUST in developing Entrepreneurial mindset at IUST and in J&K UT.
