Srinagar: Police in Budgam have arrested 03 persons and seized 03 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Budgam.
Officers from PS Khansahib have arrested 03 persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of clay from government land at Kralpathri Budgam. They have also seized 03 vehicles including 02 tippers and a JCB from the spot. The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Arif Deenda son of Ab Rashid, Ashiq Hussain son of Mushtaq Ahmed Deenda, both residents of Raiyar Ich & Jeevan Jote son of Jugal Kishore resident of Kathghar Gurdaspora. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a Case vide FIR No. 243/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khansahib and further investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
