Beerwah villagers hold protest, demand proper potable water supply

BUDGAM: The residents from the Mohalla Hassanabad of the Beerwah main town on Saturday blocked the main road and held a protest demonstration against Public Health Engineering Sub- division Beerwah demanding accusing the department of not providing proper water supply in their mollah.
The locals residents from the Mollah Hassanabad assembled the main road Beerwah and blocked the traffic movement for three hours
Nazima Bano, one of the local women from the Hassanabad Mohalla at Beerwah Main town told the Kashmir Reader that we did not not receive the water supply in the Mohalla through the pipeline.
Adding that they are receiving the drinking water through tractors which are coming to the Mollah.
“We are also providing the fee to the department. But the water supply pipeline has not been installed yet by the department. So, we can directly receive water supply into our homes, ” She said.
Bano said that we also have small children which are facing a lot of problems in absence of the proper water supply in the winters.
Jabeena, another woman, said that if we are providing the proper fee to the PHE department, why are they providing the proper water supply into our Mohalla.
‘The department should take the necessary steps and should provide the proper water supply connections to the Mohalla, so this problem will get solved for the lifetime. The locals have requested the Chief Engineer of PHE department and Deputy Commissioner Budgam to look into the matter regarding their issue.
The traffic movement was also restored by the locals after Naib Tehsildar of the Beerwah tehsil visited the spot and assured to look into the grievance.
