Police arrests drug peddler in Ganderbal; Psychotropic substance recovered

Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Ganderbal at a checkpoint established at Beehama Ganderbal intercepted a person who on seeing the police party tried to escape from the spot but alert police party apprehended him tactfully. He has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Mir son of Ali Mohd Mir resident of Saloora. During checking, officers were able to recover 96 tablets of banned drugs from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 203/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
