Minor girl injured in a leopard attack in Uri

BARAMULLA: A minor girl was injured in a leopard attack in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday evening.
Family sources of the minor said that Nuzhat Fatima 5 daughter of Aijaz Hussain was playing outside her home in Chollan village of border town Uri on Tuesday evening when a leopard attacked her.
The beast dragged the minor girl away several meters but her family and other people reached the spot and chased the beast.
The injured was later shifted to sub district hospital Uri for treatment, where she is said to be stable.
Meanwhile, the local residents appealed to the wildlife department to catch or kill the beast so that they can feel better, while as officials in the wildlife department said that they will install a cage in the area to catch the beast.
