Illicit timber seized in Rafiabad, two held

BARAMULLA: Police along with forest department seized a large quantity of illicit timber in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Official sources said that acting on a specific information about timber smuggling, a team of police station Panzla headed by SHO Mudasar Shafi, and officials of forest department laid a naka at Ruhama and intercepted a Tata mobile bearing registration number JKO5H-7897, on search large quantity of illicit forest timber were seized and two accused persons identified as Musadiq Farooq and Ubaid Farooq Sons of Farooq Ahmad Dar resident of Malganipora Pazalpora were arrested on spot.
In this regard a case FIR number 111/2021 under section 379 IPC and 26 Indian Forest Act has been registered in police station Panzla and further investigation is on.
