Srinagar: Police in Srinagar have seized 37 vehicles (Tippers) involved in transportation of illegally extracted minerals from various areas of Srinagar.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at various Police Stations viz a viz PS Panthachowk, PS Kothibagh, PS Harwan, PS Nishat & PS R.M.Bagh. Further investigation has been initiated.
Police requests the people not to indulge in illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
