1 dead, another injured after falling from walnut trees in Tral

Tral: A 50 year old man died while another was seriously injured after they fell from walnut trees in two different incidents in the Sub division Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
The deceased fell from a walnut when he was plucking walnuts from the tree.
Eyewitnesses told Kashmir Reader that he slipped down from a walnut tree at Nigeenpora Haffo village of Tral. He was immediately shifted to Sub district hospital Tral where he was declared brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Bashir Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir.
Meanwhile, a 37 years old Shakeel Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Maqbool, resident of Satoora Tral was seriously injured after he fell from a walnut tree in the village, officials said.
The injured was shifted to Sub district hospital Tral where he was referred to Srinagar hospital for further treatment, BMO Tral Bashir Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
He said this is the sixth incident since orchards started harvesting walnuts from trees in subdivision Tral. Earlier, on Thursday a 60 year old Mohammad Akram Dar son of Abdul Aziz died after falling from a walnut tree in Lam village of Tral.
