Parliamentary Standing Committee Members visit PHC Pahalgam

Srinagar: The Parliamentary Standing Committee Members on Health and Family Welfare Department Government of India under the chairmanship of Ram Gopal Yadav on Tuesday visited primary health centre Pahalgam in south Kashmir.
The Hon’ble Parliamentarians who were the part of the delegation included Professor Ram Gopal Yadav (Chairman), Dr. L. Hanumanthaiah, Dr Santanusen, Dr. Sanghmitra Maurya, Arjun Lal Meena, K. Navaskani, Adv. Adoor Prakash, Haji Fazlur Rehman, Dr. Rajdeep Roy, Dr. DNV Senthilkumar S, Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Dr Sanjay Radhakrishna Vikhepatil & Dr. Krishna Pal Sing Yadav.
A spokesperson of Director Health Services Kashmir said at PHC Pahalgam, the delegation was received by Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, CMO, Deputy CMO, and BMO.
The delegation visited all the sections of PHC Pahalgam and interacted with staff and patients and took the firsthand appraisal of the facilities being provided to the patients at the centre.
They also took review of the upcoming 50 bedded hospital at Pahalgam.
The spokesman said earlier the delegation visited Martand Temple at Mattan where they prayed for the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
At the temple they interacted with trustess of the temple and local residents and took feedback from them about the health care and other facilities being provided to them.
The trustees and local residents demanded the up-gradation of local PHC into a sub-district hospital which will help the residents of the area in mitigation of their day-to-day health issues.
The trustees later handed over the memorandum of demands to the Parliamentary Standing Committee Members.
The delegation also reviewed the Covid-19 facilities and vaccination status.
The Chairman and the other delegation members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee appreciated the work of health care workers particularly during the Covid.
They also expressed their satisfaction for the services being provided to the patients and the infrastructure available at the hospital.
