Police arrests burglar in Kulgam, stolen property recovered

Srinagar: Police in Kulgam have solved a burglary case within 24 hours and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime. Police Station Behibag received a written complaint from a complainant namely Bilal Ahmad Rather resident of Alamgung Shopian stating therein that his motorcycle (Discover) bearing registration number PB08DY-760 was stolen by some unknown thieves at Kadder Market while he was offering prayers in a nearby mosque.
Taking cognizance of the matter, a case vide FIR No. 49/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Behibag and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, by utilizing all reliable sources, a police party of Police Station Behibag under the supervision of SHO Behibagh established a checkpoint at Behibagh. During checking, the accused person involved in the commission of crime identified as Asif Ahmad Shah @Dada son of Abdul Hamid Shah resident of Behibag was arrested and the stolen motorcycle was also recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
It is pertinent to mention that the said accused person during questioning confessed his involvement in multiple incidents of burglaries in Kulgam & other districts as well.
Further investigation into the matter is going on and more recoveries/arrests are expected.
