At SKUAST Campus Dean FoH unflurs flag, at Wadura Dean FoA hoists flag

Srinagar: The August 15 celebrations were held in SKUAST-Kashmir with grandeur, gaiety, fervour and enthusiasm. Prof. Shabir A Wani, Dean Faculty of Horticulture, SKUAST-Kashmir unfurled the flag followed by playing of National Anthem.
All the Head of Divisions/ Professors / Associate Professors of Shalimar Campus and employees residing at Shalimar Campus were present during the event. Besides SKUAST-K administration / non-teaching staff also participated in the event. In view of bad weather all the participants gathered in Conference Hall of Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat for celebrating of the event, Where Prof. Wani thanked all the Scientific as well as non-teaching staff for their active participation especially admired Prof. Junaid Nazir Khan, Associate Dean,CoE&T and Nisar Ahmad Dar,PRO SKUAST-K fortheir role in making the event success.
In view of spread of Covid-19 pandemic, independence day was celebrated after following some preventive measures, like use of sanitizers, wearing of face masks and maintaining of social distancing.
Meanwhile, Agriculture celebrated 75th Independence Day on 15th August 2021 in the Faculty premises following proper COVID-19 protocols like wearing face mask, sanitization and maintaining social distance.
This year, the theme of I-Day is ‘Nation First, Always First’ to honour the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and the glorious path laid down for genera. The programme started with flag hoisting by Prof. A.H. Hakeem, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture Wadura, SKUAST-Kashmir at 10.00 a.m. followed by mass singing of National Anthem. In his Independence Day speech, Dean conveyed his Independence Day wishes to all the staff members.
He appreciated and complemented agricultural Scientist, farmers and other associated workers who worked tirelessly at the time of COVID-19 pandemic. He also appealed to all the staff to work with selflessness, honesty and dedication to build a strong nation. The programme was attended by all teaching and non-teaching staff of Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura.
