SRINAGAR: SKUAST-K will organize a Two Days Workshop on Organic farming to Develop policy and action framework for J&K from 3-4 August 2021 in collaboration with Deptt. Of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare UT of J&K. The workshop will be inaugurated by Prof. J. P Sharma Vice-chancellor SKUAST-K and will feature expert lectures and panel discussion on developing a framework for promoting niche based organic farming system in J&K.
The workshop will be attended by a galaxy of scientists/ national advisors within and outside state, top bureaucrats including Principal Secretary Agriculture J&K, NavinChoudhary, Heads of development departments and Padma Shri Awardee national farmers and entrepreneurs in the area of Organic farming. The workshop is expected to deliberate upon opportunities and challenges as well as develop policy guidelines for promoting organic farming in J&K encompassing the transition process, production to marketing value chain as well as issues related to certification. About 200 delegates are expected to attend the workshop.
