Pampore: A mass vaccination drive was held on Monday at Government Degree College Pampore during which many staff members and students were vaccinated.
The drive was organised by Principal GDC Pampore Seema Naaz in collaboration with BMO Sub District Hospital Pampore.
Nodal Officer COVID-19 for Pampore block, Dr Mohammad Ashraf, Principal GDC Pampore Professor Seema Naaz, Pro Shah Lateef, Block Extension Educator SDH Pampore Nouman Andrabi and other officials were present on the occasion in the college premises.
Officials told Kashmir Reader during the vaccination programme staff students were vaccinated at GDC Pampore and 200 persons vaccinated at SDH Pampore.
” First of all, I am thankful to Kashmir Reader for giving wide coverage to COVID control measures and creating awareness among people, we have been given the job to vaccinate youth and it is in this context today we are here so that chances of opening educational institutions are increased, ” Dr Mohammad Ashraf, Nodal Officer COVID Control for Pampore, said.
He added that they vaccinated most of the staff members and others who are yet to be vaccinated will be given the jabs.
” We plan to vaccinate more than 100 students per day,” he said.
Principal GDC Pampore, Professor Seema Naaz told Kashmir Reader that the vaccination drive was held for the staff and students.
” This vaccination programme was held in view that if colleges are thrown open the students and staff will be protected from COVID-19,” she said.
