Two leopard cubs caught in Beerwah Budgam

SRINAGAR: The Wildlife Department has rescued two leopard cubs during the nighttime of Monday at Poonch – Gund village of the Beerwah Tehsil in Central Kashmiris Budgam district.
Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Block officer from the wildlife control Chadoora told the Kashmir Reader that two leopard cubs have been rescued from the Poonch- Gund village during Monday night time.
“Both the leopard cubs have been sent to Dachigam National Park, where the wildlife department will take care of both leopard cubs as the proper facility is available in the Dachigam National park,” Bhat said
He said that after the incident took place in the housing colony Ompora the wildlife teams from the Dachigam, Tangmarg, Sopore have been deployed in the various areas of the district along with their vehicles. So, we will have been able to catch them alive.
“From last five days the teams from the wildlife department, forest department, and forest protection force have been searching various places in the district. However one leopard and two leopard cubs have been caught alive in the district,” He said.
