Pampore: The Tehsil Administration Pampore has found a novel way to discourage earth filling of wetlands around the town and land conversion of padday with such material now dispatched to government works going on in the area.
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din while talking to Kashmir Reader said that in the areas surrounding Pampore like Meej Nambal, Meebagh, Bagandar and Befina they faced this chronic issue of land conversion being carried out by mafia.
He said that it had been a headache for the administration for a long time.He said that they have decided that the earth filling that was being carried out illegally by land mafia would be removed and sent to the construction sites taken by the government.
Today earth filling at Meebagh was removed by the authorities.
