POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet, today inspected security arrangements put in place on Mughal Road.
He was accompanied by SSP Poonch, Vinod Kumar, Tehsildar Surankote, Sheraz Ahmed, Dy. SP Surankote, Khaliq Choudhary, SHO Police Station Surankote and DTI.
The Deputy Commissioner ascertained detail of procedure adopted by Police Chowki Behramgalla and Poshana Army post for checking suspicious movement.
At Poshana the army officer briefed the visiting officers regarding the procedure adopted for frisking and clearing of vehicles and Dheras of Nomads.
The Deputy Commissioner had a round of the data record room also. The police officials raised some issues of strengthening them with PPE kits, hand sanitizer and rain coats etc which the SSP Poonch assured for providing them on priority.
The Deputy Commissioner exhorted upon the concerned to be very strict in implementing the orders issued in this regard from time to time. He pointed out some differences between the orders of his office and that of traffic plan and suggested immediate corroboration from traffic authorities. The Deputy Commissioner paid the visit after returning from Rajouri where he was on official visit in view of visit of Lieutenant Governor of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
Later, both the officers checked the condition of Mughal Road upto Peer ki Gali.
