Defunct from years, street lights in B’la undergo repairs

Baramulla: The officials of the municipal council here in north Kashmir’s Baramulla town started the repairment of all street lights, which were defunct from years and the people of the areas were facing hardships.
They said that the step was taken by the officials from the first day of holy month of Ramzan so that people could not face more hardships.
Chairman municipal council Baramulla Touseef Raina said that they started the repairment of all street lights at Azadgung bridge, cement bridge, Tehsil road, and at other locations. He said they are going to buy some more lights incoming days and assure that all the street lights will be functional within the next few days.
Earlier there were hundreds of street lights in almost every side of the Baramulla town, but around 90% lights went defunct years.
The newly elected chairman Touseef Raina assured that all the lights will be made functional within a few days, and people from both sides of river Jhelum will not face more hardships.
