3 drug peddlers arrested by police in Pampore, cannabis recovered, vehicle seized

Pampore: Police Pampore on Saturday said it has arrested three more drug peddler on Srinagar-Jammu bypass near Galander Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Continuing its drive against the Drug peddlers and its propagators, district police Awantipora arrested three more drug peddlers in Pampore area and recovered six Kilograms of grinded Cannabis from their possession, police said.
As per police, on specific information, a team of police station Pampore led by SHO Pampore Mohammad Younis Khan laid a naka near Galander bypass.
During vehicular checking, police arrested three drug peddlers identified as Bilal Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, resident of Ringballa Kupwara, Javid Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, resident of Ringballa Kupwara and Gazanfar Mukhtar son of Mukhtar Ahmad Dar, resident of Rawalpora Sannat Nagar Srinagar, SDPO Pampore Imtiyaz Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
The arrested persons were travelling in a Tata Nano vehicle which was signalled to stop and during through search six kilograms of grinded Cannabis was recovered from the possession of the persons boarding in the vehicle. The vehicle Tata Nano bearing registration number JK01P-4633 used in the commission of the said crime has also been seized.
In this regard, case FIR number 29/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Pampore.
“Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace,” he added.
