Awantipora: The Municipal Committee (MC) Awantipora held an awareness programme in the historic town for street vendors on micro credit facility.
The programme was held in the office building of Municipal Committee Awantipora in which many street vendors, Municipal Committee officials and banking officials from the town participated.
Officials of Municipal Committee Awantipora informed that the vendors were sensitized about Prime Minister Svanidhi Yojina, a special micro credit facility for street vendors.
The officials told Kashmir Reader that under this scheme vendors are given a loan of rupees 10 thousand on feeble interest rate.
“The loan amount can be increased up to rupees 1 lakh,” they said, adding that for this credit facility the street vendors don’t require any guarantee for sanction of the loan.
Later on the president of the Municipal Committee Awantipora Bilal Ahmad distributed dust bins among the street vendors. He also visited newly developed garbage dumping site at Padgampora area of Awantipora
He expressed gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer, for providing them a dumping site at Padgampora.
