Government committed to timely completion of AIIMS Awantipora: DC Pulwama

AWANTIPORA: Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer on Tuesday visited Awantipora to take stock of construction work on All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl, Tehsildar Awantipora Mohammad Maqbool and many other officials of civil and police administration.
Talking to Kashmir Reader at the site for AIIMS, the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer said that the first phase of AIIMS will be completed by May 2024.
“All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is a flagship project, Government is fully committed for its timely completion, the phase one will be completed by May 2024,” he said, adding that it is a huge project and for phase one they have a 24 months deadline.
He added that the Central Public Works Department is the executing agency for the project and the work is going in full swing despite cold weather conditions.
“I talked to the contractor and he assured me that the work will be completed within the allotted time period,” he said.
He also added that they are taking periodic review of various government agencies for providing water, electricity and approach roads for AIIMS Awantipora.
“ We took a demolition drive along a four lane approach road to AIIMS and now you have full access to it,” he said.
