KUPWARA: Police found the body of a missing youth in the woods of Cherkoot in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.
Police said that on Saturday some locals spotted a dead body in forest areas of Cherkoot Kupwara and they inform it to local Kupwara police, who reached the spot and took the body into their custody and later shift it to hospital for examination and identification, where he was identified as a 33 years old Javaid Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Dilawar Mir of Izgund Khumriyal Kupwara.
The deceased went missing from January 15 and after a lot of efforts by police and family could not trace him anywhere.
Meanwhile, Kupwara police who had already registered a missing report and a case under relevant sections of law and started the further investigation.
