Govt orders transfers, postings of police officers
Srinagar: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s Home Department has issued a formal order regarding transfers and postings of police officers, with immediate effect. Under Government Order No. 372-ISA, dated 17th July 2026, several police officials have been reassigned to new positions within the department.
Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, IPS, has been transferred and posted as CEO of the JK Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (JK4C). Sameer Sharma, IPS, DIG Armed Jammu, is now posted as DIG JK Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (JK4C). Mohd Yaseen Kichloo, IPS, Principal STC Talwara, has been transferred and posted as SSP Administrative Wing, JK Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (JK4C), with an additional charge of SSP Cyber Operations Wing (JK4C).
Ramnish Gupta, SSP CICE, Jammu, has been transferred and posted as SSP Cyber Investigation Wing, JK Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (JK4C). Shwetambri Sharma, SP, is transferred and posted as SP, Online Crime against Women and Children (OCWC) Wing, JK Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (JK4C).
The order also states that the pay of these officers will be drawn from overall reserves until further orders. The transfers are ordered by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Chandraker Bharti IAS, and are effective immediately. The order has been circulated to key officials including the Director General of Police, the Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, and other relevant departments for implementation.
