Two militant associates arrested in Awantipora: Police

Awantipora: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two Jaish-e-Muhammad militant associates who were providing shelter and logistical support to active militants in Awantipora and Tral areas of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
They have been identified as Shezaan Gulzar Beigh, resident of Gadhikhal Charsoo Awantipora and Waseem-ul-Rehman Sheikh from Midoora Awantipora.
The duo was involved in providing shelter and logistical and kind of support to the Jaish-e-Muhammad militants in the areas and incriminating material was seized from their possession, a police officer told Kashmir Reader.
Awantipora Police along with Army’s 42 RR and 130 battalion CRPF arrested two militant associates of proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad from Awantipora area who are involved in providing shelter, support, logistics, as well as in transporting of arms/ ammunition of the militants in Awantipora and Tral area and passing sensitive information to the militants of proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad, police said.
He said Incriminating material including ammunition has been recovered from both the arrested associates.
As per police the duo arrested militant associates have been in touch with the PaK militant Commanders through various Social Media platforms.
One of the arrested militant associates has also gone to PaK and met some militant commanders there.
Police said that a lot of false narratives have been uploaded on Facebook Page being operated by one of the arrested militant associates to influence and misguide the gullible youth towards the path of violence, police said.
A case FIR number 07/2021 stands registered against the said arrested arrested associate in Police Station Awantipora under relevant sections of law. Further investigation/ questioning is going on, he said.
