Gulshan Cultural Forum Kashmir observes death anniversary of poet Khan Ghulam Nabi

SRINAGAR: Gulshan Cultural Forum Kashmir and Lassa Khan Fida Foundation jointly organized a prestigious literary event in connection with the 17th death anniversary of renowned Sufi saint and poet Khan Ghulam Nabi Ibn Fida at Lal Chowk, Islamabad. Leading researcher, writer, poet and chairman of Lassa Khan Fida Foundation Prof. Gulshan Majeed was the chief guest on the occasion.
Well known Poets and writers Gulshan Badrani and Khurshid Khamosh presented essays on the poetic style of Ibn Fida. Leading preacher and poet Abdul Ahad Shahbaz delivered a sermon on Sufism and Islamic teachings.
Referring to Sufism and Islamic ideology, Prof. Gulshan Majeed in his presidential address said that Sufism is not the aim of the travelers of the path of pleasure but it is also the name of correcting the constitution of worldly life which is a bright torch to decorate and beautify both worlds and the Hereafter. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
The recitation of the Holy Quran was performed by Farooq Ahmed while the Naat was recited by Riaz Ahmed Chadoora. Local host Manzoor Ahmad Pashu called for strengthening the mystical mission during the Thanksgiving movement. Naat and Manaqib were presented during the ceremony. While the hearing was an important aspect of the ceremony, well known singer Ghulam Mohammad Bulbul and his colleagues tied the knot. Among others present on the occasion were Mohammad Ashraf Chadoora, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Mohand, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, Imtiaz Ahmed, Shaukat Ahmed, Gulzar Ahmed and others.
