DDC member from Pampore constituency demands restoration of basic amenities

PAMPORE: District Development Council (DDC) member from Pampore constituency Choudhary Tazeema Akhter visited various villages in her constituency to take stock of the situation post snowfall.
She visited Nagander, Batdalow, Wahab Sahab and adjoining villages along with officials of RDD.
Gujjar and Bakerwal Community General Secretary Choudhary Mohammad Yaseen Poswal also accompanied her.
The DDC member held a series of interactions with various village representatives who apprised her about their problems.
“The road is cut off, I had to travel to these villages on foot, the villagers are in a pathetic situation,” Tazeema told Kashmir Reader, adding the habitation has no power supply for past few days which has affected water supply in the area.
She appealed to authorities for clearing the road from snow in Batlow and other areas and restoring power and electricity to them.
“It will be very troubling for them to ferry patients to hospital as the road remains cut due to a damaged bridge which needs repairment,” she said, adding snow has added to their woes.
“The bridge is damaged for past two years, it was washed by flood water two years ago at Nagander Khrew village but none took pains to repaired it,” She told told Kashmir Reader, adding that she demanded its repairement in back to village and personally all district authorities but to no avail.
“The Halqa Nagander compromise of around 15 thousand souls,” Gujjar Bakerwal Community general Secretary Mohammad Yaseen Poswal told Kashmir Reader. He added that a bridge on a path connecting them to the main road was washed away by flash floods two years ago but concerned never turned up at the spot even to record the damage in their official books.
“In case of a medical emergency or fire incident how could an ambulance or fire tender reach our village? “he asked, demanding that the damaged bridge be repaired as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Chaudhry Mohammad Yaseen Poswal, General Secretary Gujjar Bakerwal Conference J&K and Chaudhary Tazeem DDC member Pampore have appreciated district administration in restoring power supply to Konibal, Shar Shali and adjoining villages on priority basis. They applauded the local administration for installing a new 10 MVA transformer despite inclement weather conditions.
The 10MVA transformer was damaged and Konibal receiving station was damaged and many villages including Konibal, Shar Shali and other areas of Pampore Tehsil reelining under complete darkness for the last five days. These villages did not get any water supply these days.
“We are really thankful to the dedicated officials of District Administration Pulwama. And Deputy Commissioner Pulwama ,Dr Raghav Langer, officials of PDD department, especially MD Aijaz Asad, Chief Er Aijaz Ahmad Dar , SC Pulwama Latif Ahmad Shah , Xen (Std), AE, J E, and local staff of PDD for restoration of power supply in our locality and installation of new Transformer at Power Receiving station Konibal Pampore,” they said, adding that they are thankful to the District Administration particularly Tehsildar Pampore for their best job in timely snow clearance of all Roads, Poswal ssid.
