Militant associate arrested in Baramulla: Police

BARAMULLA: Baramulla police claimed to have arrested a TRF militant associate in the outskirts of Baramulla town.
Police in their statement said that, based on specific input about the movement of militants/OGWs on Baramulla-Handwara highway, a joint NAKA of police and other forces was established near Jehlum Stadium Azadgung Baramulla within the jurisdiction of police station Baramulla.
At about 6 pm on Tuesday, a Maruti Alto car bearing number JK05G-1675 was moving from Baramulla towards Handwara, on seeing the Naka the driver tried to flee from the spot, however the naka party cordoned and stopped the car. On spot frisking and physical search, cash 13,,000 was recovered from the person. On searching the car three grenades were recovered which were hidden in a bag full of charcoal.
During on spot questioning he identified himself as Asif Gull son of Ghulam Mohammad Alwaie. He revealed that he was working as OGW for TRF and also revealed that he was working as OGW for TRF which is an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit. He said that he was in contact with one local militant Abid presently at Pakistan Administered Kashmir. He was also in contact of Hyder @ Jajja, Usman (FT) and Inayatullah and also arranged logistics for them.
In this regard case FIR number 218/2020 stands registered in police station Baramulla and further investigation taken up.
