Rohella visits GDC Pampore, inaugurates gymnasium

Pampore: Talat Parvez Rohella, Commissioner Secretary higher education department visited degree college Pampore on Monday where he inaugurated a gymnasium and laid the foundation stone for the laboratory block. He also released a college magazine for 2020.
The Commissioner Secretary was welcomed by GDC Principal Prof. Dr Seema Naz by presenting him with a bouquet.
After having interaction with college staff, he was shown smart classrooms of the college by Prof. Shah Lateef, in-charge Programme/IQAC Coordinator.
A seminar was also organised during the occasion. The female students presented a cultural programme wherein they demonstrated their singing and dancing talent.
The Commissioner Secretary released the College magazine, Shehr-e-Zafran and Prospectus 2020.
The guest of honour, Talat Parvez Rohella held a special address wherein he talked about building necessary infrastructure for Pampore College in next two years.
He also appreciated the college management and staff showing good performance despite shortage of infrastructure.
A Vote of thanks was passed by Prof. Alam Ara Shah, Staff Secretary, to the guest of honour.
The programme was organized by IQAC with the support of its Convener, Prof. Shah Lateef.
Talking to media Talat Parveez Rohella said that he visited Pampore college to assess requirements for students’ curriculum transition.
” There is a shortage of infrastructure in Pampore college. The academic block has only six class rooms. Eight new classes are being constructed with four crore rupees and a laboratory block of eight rooms is also being constructed,” he said, adding it will add capacity of the college which will ensure increase in enrolments.
“Besides college has taken initiatives for constructing a pond, for a spice park and a spice park which will be taken care in next year’s planning,”he said.
