Bandipora: A webinar titled “Stress Management” was organized by the Psychological Counseling Cell of GDC Sumbal on Saturday, under Manodarpan Initiative of Department of Higher Education J&K.
Convener Psychological Counseling Cell, Prof. Mohamad Iqbal Rather introduced the webinar theme to the participants. Worthy Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Shafi Khan delivered a welcome address and gave a brief account of the activities being undertaken by the college for achieving the objectives of Manodarpan initiative.
He further stressed for properly handling the students who are vulnerable to stress of the modern age.
The Webinar was formally inaugurated by revered Director Colleges Prof. M. Y. Peerzada.
In his inaugural address the esteemed Director highlighted the importance of Stress Management Counseling for student community particularly in the present uncertain times.
He also highlighted the role of Department of Higher Education in tackling the stress among college students.
Guest speaker, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Muzaffar Khan presented an innovative and highly informative lecture on the webinar theme. He dealt with many aspects of the subject and threw a detailed light about how the stress can be managed effectively and also how those people can be treated efficiently and effectively who are suffering from the depression, anxiety and disorder resulting out of various hostile circumstances.
The speakers suggested various possible ways with the help of which we can overcome such sort of various malady.
A large number of students and faculty members of various institutions actively participated in this Webinar.
The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Riyaz Ahmad Kuchay and the entire webinar was moderated by Dr. Fahim-ul Hassan, Co-convener of Psychological Counseling Cell.
