SRINAGAR: The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah Saturday expressed profound gratitude to all those who extended condolences and sympathies following the demise of his younger brother Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal.
Dr Farooq conveyed his sincere appreciation to everyone who stood by him and his family during their bereavement by offering prayers, condolences and unwavering support, and by participating in the funeral, congregational funeral prayers (Namaz-e-Janazah), condolence meetings and supplications for the departed soul.
He also expressed special gratitude to eminent political leaders from across the country who conveyed their condolences through telephone calls, messages and other expressions of solidarity.
Dr Farooq thanked religious scholars and leaders, political, social and religious organisations, custodians of shrines and khanqahs, spiritual leaders, Imams, members of trade bodies, representatives of civil society, the media fraternity, Members of Parliament, Ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly, senior leaders, office-bearers and workers of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference from all three regions, as well as distinguished citizens, relatives, friends and neighbours for sharing the family’s grief and standing in solidarity during this difficult period.
He said the overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, compassion and support from people belonging to all walks of life had provided immense strength, courage and solace to the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow.
Praying for the well-being of all those who stood by the family, Dr Farooq said, “May Almighty Allah abundantly reward all our well-wishers for their kindness, keep them under His infinite mercy and protection, and graciously accept their sincere prayers, goodwill and expressions of solidarity.
