Quality and supply of pesticides insecticides in JK reviewed

Department in mission mode to ensure quality fertilizer and pesticides : Dir Agri

Srinagar: To take review of quality and supply of pesticides in JK UT Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi, who is also Controller Insecticides J&K held a meeting with representatives of Pesticides Dealers Jammu / Kashmir, Heads of various Insecticides / Pesticide Manufacturing Companies today at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi.
Speaking on the occasion Director Agriculture said that the prime objective of the Department of the department is to ensure that quality fertilizers and pesticides are made available to the farmers through proper sale outlets well in time. Every effort must be put in so that farmer’s interests are served at all the levels of administration he said and added.
He directed the representatives of Pesticides and Insecticides companies to ensure that all efforts may be put in place to keep the Pesticides and Insecticides available before the season starts.
He directed the concerned authorities to be mobile and more robust in tracing the fake and spurious pesticides so that the quality inputs is provided to the farming community for achieving disease free crop.
He stressed upon the insecticide/pesticide dealers to maintain a fare pricing approach while selling their products to the farmers.
He directed them to generate awareness and distribute information broachers among the farmers at their door steps regarding the compatibility of their products which will help the farmer to use pesticide / insecticide judiciously.
Representatives of Pesticides / Insecticides companies raised various queries before the Director, after giving a patient hearing he assured them that their genuine queries will be taken care of on priority.
The meeting was also attended by Director Agriculture Jammu, Director Law Enforcement APFW, Deputy Director Law Enforcement Jammu, Plant Protection Officer Jammu through virtual mode while as Deputy Director Law Enforcement Kashmir, Plant Protection Officer Kashmir in person.
