Bomb squad destroys ‘suspicious object’ in Pattan

Baramulla: A suspicious object was said to be found in Pattan area of Baramulla on Monday morning which was later destroyed by the bomb disposal squad of the army.
Officials said that the road-opening party of army’s 29 RR found a suspicious object at Kuta Mode in Pattan area on Srinagar-Baramulla highway Monday morning. The party reported this to senior officials. Soon after, officials of police, army and other security agencies reached the spot. Later, a team of the army’s bomb disposal squad was called to destroy it.
Locals said that traffic movement on this busy highway was also stopped for some time, but later restored.
In the past month three suspected IEDs have been destroyed by the army’s bomb disposal squad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla and Kupwara districts.
