IED found at Rafiabad, defused

Baramulla: Government forces on Thursday found an improvised explosive device (IED) in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, which was later defused. Officials said that the IED was found by the road-opening party of army’s 32 RR inside a passenger shed at Chatloora village on the Baramulla-Kupwara road.
They said that later teams of police, army and other government forces reached the spot along with the bomb disposal squad, who destroyed the IED.
Police said they have registered a case in this regard.
On September 7, government forces had found an IED in the Armpora area of Kupwara along the Sopore-Kupwara road in a sand box under a small bridge, which was later defused by the bomb disposal squad of the army.
