Jammu: The Centre’s interlocutor for Kashmir Dineshwar Sharma on Friday called on President Chamber of Commerce & Industry Sh. Rakesh Gupta, alongwith his team of office bearers here in Jammu.
The trade body led by Rakesh Gupta alongwith the Sr. Vice President Sh. Rajeev Gupta, Jr. Vice President, Sh. Manish Gupta, Secretary General and Sh. Gaurav Gupta, Secretary had threadbare discussions regarding prevailing situation in state and suggested many corrective measures to be taken by way of submitting a detailed memorandum which reads as under:
Ø That the Chamber of Commerce & Industry has been constantly and repeatedly requesting the Ministry of Home Affairs to enforce laws relating to use of PI systems at all religious places which we feel are major source of trouble and may lead to communal provocation but nothing has been done in this direction till date.
Ø That we have been agitating since long for deporting Rohingyas from Jammu and in the light of the case being pending before the Supreme Court of India we suggest that these illegal immigrants be identified in our state and be confined at a specific area and not be allowed to penetrate in interiors as they can be a major source of communal provocation and a great threat to the national security.
Ø That Post demonetization last year we fear that the random notices sent and being sent to the assesses by Income tax department without matching deposits of demonetized currency in the banks with the turnover may lead to major source of harassment to the assesses and corruption by the Babus and ultimately translate into mass unrest that needs to be looked at carefully.
Ø That we strongly feel that the under privileged people in our state neither have any representation in political dialogues & empowerment and it may not be out of place to mention that these under privileged people feel and have confined themselves in a so called victimized shell. We strongly feel that such people be engaged in the dialogues at different level and we strongly recommend that they be provided with free supply of smart phones so that they can get connected to the rest of the world to speak out their hearts and also get themselves enlightened about what is happening in the outside world.
Ø That unemployment is a big issue which has resulted in misdirecting the youth of our state and we feel that establishment of some mother industries and BPOs could take care of enough job opportunities if they be established in a peaceful region of Jammu.
Ø That we feel that ever since independence the people of Jammu have a sense of political exclusion because the pestering issues concerning Jammu were never addressed.
Ø That our heads bow down in shame and embarrassment when we see the plight of West Pakistan Refugees whom we have not been able to give basic rights, dignity and an postal address. We suggest that a town- ship be created at an appropriate place on the same pattern as done in case of Kashmiri Pandit Migrants so that we could at least give them basic amenities guaranteed by the constitution of India as has been desired by one and all across India.
Ø That the development of Tourist spots in Jammu region is still like a dream and we strongly suggest that these be created on fast track basis with special focus on BSF Parade at Suchetgarh border on the pattern of Waga on urgent basis.
Ø That the 80 thousand crores package announced by the Prime Minister two years back for our state needs transparency in terms of the different projects that were sanctioned so that the people of the State know what the Government of India has sanctioned.
ØThat immediately after 2010 turmoil in the state Panchyat and Local body elections were announced as a part of three tier system of democratic governance which would have involved the people at micro level giving them feeling of empowerment that would have changed their mind set towards political integration system and integration with rest of the country.
ØThat the government of India should strongly consider to facilitate intra region meetings of youth which will help in integration between three region and would ultimately help in understanding each others perspective.
Ø That the silent migration of population of the nationalists from Jammu region to other parts of the country is on account of non-inclusion of the nationalists in the political dialogue as well as the unemployment factor and we also strongly feel that nothing till date has been done to address the issues of the nationalists but only the separatists appeasement policy was followed.
Ø That there should be a consistent policy for peace and development of our state and the recommendations of the interlocutors or working groups should not be just pieces of paper but treated as aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and effective steps be taken to address them.
