PSAK organizes blood donation camp

Private Schools Association of Kashmir (PSAK) in coordination with several governments and Non-Government Organizations (NGO) organized a blood donation camp to inculcate the spirit of donation and charity among the younger generation.

The camp inaugurated by PSAK chairman G N Var was actively supported by Ahl-e-Bait-e-Tahireen organises, Civil Defence Srinagar, Ahsan Foundation, WHIPRO, Peoples Social Cultural Society, Shafi Shaida Foundation, Common Health and Jan Swasthya Abiyan with active collaboration of Government Lalla Did Hospital Srinagar.

While presiding over the inaugural function, Var said that it is imperative that our younger generation learn the value of charity particularly donating something valuable from their body. “Blood donation is considered one of the highest charities, as it saves a life of another human being,” said Var.

“By going through pain to save another human being is often a life changing experience for youngsters. They come to know the value of a human life irrespective of caste, creed, religion and gender and how our own harmless action can save a life and a family.”

More than sixty persons donated blood at the camp.

On the occasion certificates and special awards were given to volunteers.

The event was also participated by large number of dignitaries from various organisation and civil society, who praised the initiative.
