Women injured as Pakistan ‘violates’ ceasefire in Uri

An elderly woman was injured after Pakistan army violated ceasefire and resorted to firing at Naamla and Baaz areas of Uri sector in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district along the Line of Control, official sources said Tuesday.

The sources said that Pakistan resorted to firing on this side of the fence this late afternoon at Naamla. A woman identified as Hanifa Begum, resident of Chaper Gala Bakh in Namla was injured and she was shifted to hospital for treatment. The Indian army also retaliated to Pakistan fire, said the sources, adding that the firing continued intermittently for several hours.

As per official sources, the Pakistan army also violated ceasefire in Baaz area and targeted posts of 20 Sikh of Army. “The army from this side also retaliated and the exchange of the fire is on,” the sources added
